Title: Updated Spring Frost Restriction # 12

Effective 8:00 am Friday, May 17th, 2013 Spring weight restriction will be lifted on on State Trunkline Highways within the state of Michigan.  State trunkline highways typicall carry M, I and US designations.

Title: Updated Spring Weight Restriction. # 11

Effective 8:00 AM, Friday May 10th, 2013 spring weight restrictions will be lifted on all state trunkline highways from the southern Michigan border north to and including M-203 in Calumet, everything north of Calumet is still in effect. State trunkline highways typically carry M, I and US designations.

Title: Updated Spring Weight Restriction. # 10

Effective 8:00 AM, Friday April 26th, 2013, weight restrictions will be lifted on all state trunkline highways from the southern Michigan border north to and including US-2 to Iron Mountain.  Frost restriction are still in effect on M-185 on the Mackinac Island.

Effective 8:00 AM Monday April 15th, 2013, weight restrictions will be lifted on all state trunkline highways from Michigan/Indiana line north to and including from Ludington M-10 east to US-127 north to M-61 east to Standish.  State Trucnkline Highways typically carry M, I and US designations.

Effective 8:00 A.M, Monday, April 15, 2013 weight restrictions will be lifted on all state trunkline highways from the Michigan / Indiana line north to and including M-20 at US-31, north of Montague/Whitehall, east to US-10/ M-25 at Bay City including the thumb

State trunkline highways typically carry M, I and US designations.

Effective 8:00 a.m Thursday April 4th, 2013, weight restrictions will be lifted on all state trunkline highways from Michigan/Indiana line north to and including  I-94 east to I-69 north to US-127 north to M-20 east to US-10 east to M-25 north east to Harbor Beach.  State trunkline highways typically carry M, I and US designations.

Title: UPDATED SPRING WEIGHT RESTRICTION BULLETIN # 4

Effective 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2013, weight restrictions will be imposed and enforced on all state trunkline highways within the entire state of Michigan, now including the Upper Peninsula. State trunkline highways typically carry M, I, and US designations.

-On routes designated as "All Season Routes" (green or gold on the MDOT Truck Opeators Map) there are no reductions in legal axle weight.

-On routes designated as "Seasonal" (solid or dashed red on the MDOT Truck Operators Map) weight reductions are 25% for rigid pavements and 35% for flexible pavements.

Extended permited are valid for oversize only in the weight restricted area.

Single trip permits will not be issued for overweight loads or loads exceeding 14 feet in width, 11 axles nor 150 feet in overall length in the weight restricted area.

Effective 8:00 AM monday March 11th, 2013 weight restrictions will be imposed and enforced on all state trunkline highways south of and including US-10 in Ludington east to M-47 south to M-46 east to Port Sanilac.

Weight restriction information may be obtained be calling 1-800-787-8960. For companies located in Canada or New Jersey, information my be obtained by calling 517-373-6256.

-   On routes designated as "All Season Routes" (green or gold on the MDOT Truck Operators Map) there will be no reduction in legal axle weight.

-   On routes designated as "Seasonal" (solid or dashed red on the MDOT Truck Operators Map) there will be a weight reduction of 25% for rigid pavements and 35% for flexible pavements.

Extended permits will be valid for oversize only in the weight restricted area.

Single trip permits will not be issued for overweight loads or loads exceeding 14 feet in width, 11 axles and 150 feet in overalllength in the weight restricted area.

Title: GENERAL SPRING WEIGHT RESTRICTION INFORMATION # 1 # 1

Currently, there are no spring weight restrictions active for state trunkline highways.

However, the Michigan Department of Transportation has initiated efforts to begin monitoring spring frost.

Please take the necessary precautions to ensure your transporting operations are accomplished prior to the weight restrictions being imposed.

Although no one can predict when the restrictions will be imposed, you can review when they were imposed in previous years by accessing the web at:

http://www.michigan.gov/truckers and clicking on “MDOT Spring Weight Restrictions.” This website also provides detailed weight restriction information.

The current weight restriction status can also be obtained by calling our toll-free number at: (800) 787-8960.

When the restrictions are imposed, the following will apply in the restricted area:

-On routes designated as "All Season Routes" (green and gold on MDOT Truck Operator's Map), there will be no reduction in legal axle weights.

-On routes designated as "Seasonal" (solid or dashed red on the MDOT Trucker Operator's Map), there will be weight reduction of 25% for rigid pavements and 35% for flexible pavements.

Refer to the MDOT Truck Operators Map for route designations.

Extended permits will be valid for oversize only in the weight restricted area.
